Wildlife refuge on land that was once the security buffer zone of the Rocky Flats Plant, a nuclear weapon production facility that operated between 1952 and 1992. Though the plant site is still considered a Superfund site, this refuge has been deemed safe, though is still awaiting the green light to open to the public.
