Pampa ISD built a new Junior High School, paid for by the issuance of bonds passed by voters, to house 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. The old Robert E. Lee Junior High was in bad shape and beyond affordable repair. A local family donated the land to the school district. They believed that in order to get a good education, you need a good school. This new school opened to students in the fall of 2009.
