Yaniv is an abandoned village in Vyshhorod Raion, Kyiv Oblast, northern Ukraine. It is located south of Pripyat and west of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
Yaniv was a former village in Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine, located within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. It was known for its Yaniv railway station and the Red Forest to the south of the village.
Due to radioactive contamination caused by the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant disaster, the village's residents were evacuated on April 27, 1986. As effective decontamination was impossible, most of the buildings were demolished and buried. The village was officially removed from records on April 1, 2003.
