This is the National Security Guard (NSG) commandos Regional Hub of Chennai. NSG commandos are trained at this exclusive, 69-acre facility sandwiched between forests and hillocks at Nerkundram off the Vandalur-Kelambakkam Road.
This site consists of two hillocks and surrounded by two lakes behind Arignar Anna Zoological Park, coming under three survey numbers – 250/2 in Nedunkundram hamlet and 147C/6 and 74/2 in Kolapakkam, and is located 15 km from the Chennai Airport as well as connected by four-lane roads to reach Kalpakkam and other places of national security importance.
The operational jurisdiction of Chennai NSG Hub are Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Puducherry.
