319th. "ha-Mapatz/Elder of Zion" (Reserve) Armored Division

The 319th Division 319 is an armored reserve division subordinate to Northern Command . The division was built at the beginning of the '70s as a permanent division, first designation was 146th and it served as a reserve to the director general staff . At the outbreak of the Yom Kippur War its leader was Musa Peled and it was transferred to the Central Command. It was rushed to reinforce the troops who fought on the Syrian front. After the armistice agreements it was again transferred to Sinai then was laterr placed under the Northern Command.
