  • This airfield no longer supports A10 Aircraft. It is used primarily for cargo, and Airborne Operations only now. Pope Air Force Base has been slated to close under the BRAC agreement. it will remain possibly as Pope Army Air Field, and no longer will be an active duty Air Force facility. the only thing saving it at all is Fort Bragg's mission.
