First let me give you a brief description about Pilathara.

Located between Taliparamba and Payyanur, Pilathara is a famous town in Kannur District. This region is noted for its cultural, traditional and religious characteristics. The Pariyaram Academy of Medical Sciences is at a walking distance from Pilathara. Payangadi and Mathamangalam are located south and north of Pilathara respectively. It comes under Kannur thaluk and Cheruthazham village. It's very near to Ezhimala Navel Acadamy.

The great historical Siva temple is 0.5km far away from Pilathara, there is one Vishnu Temple also which is located exactly in Periyat. One Christian and one Muslim church are in the heart of the city. There is one UP school and High school. The VLP School is 1 km far away from Pilathara.

Pilathara is also famous as the birth place of the freedom fighter Payyarata Raman and the renowned Malayalam Lyricist and Singer Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri. Calicut Airport is the nearest airport. The nearby railway station is at Payangadi, just 6 km away from Pilathara.

  • All Pilatharans how are you. Pilathara is Pilathara only. on other plaace like pilathara. Everythings and everbody is there. i have spent many many evenings there with my friends.now pilathara have changed, it became small town, but my pilathara is still my good old pilathara.
