Perhaps the busiest intersection on campus during the day, the traffic light at Riverside and McKinley is known as the "Scramble Light." Once normal vehicular traffic has passed through the light, a pedestrian-only light sequence allows for people to cross through the intersection in any direction ("scramble") for a 30-second period. A complete renovation in the summer of 2011 spruced up the streets and sidewalks with brick.

The Scramble Light is a popular place for student organization advertisers and free handouts.
