  The place Chabua is eastern part of Dibrugarh about 30 Kilometers. Chabua, the name is connected with 'Chah' i.e., Tea +suffix -Boa means plant etc. The Britishers (the Bruce brothers) first time (sometimes in A.D. 1834) planted Tea here, Hence the name. During the reign of Mattak King Sarvananada and Moamaria Religious preachers made this place a hot spots for the Mattak people. The famous Mota-Tukura rests close to Chabua. Chabua is a famous Tea Station today on the NH Way 37. The Referal Hospital for the Tea Gardeners rests at Chabua.
