Pasighat,the district headquater of East Siang in Arunachal Pradesh is situated on the bank of River Siang. It is the oldest administrative centre of Arunachal Pradesh formerly known as NEFA(North Eastern Frontier Agency). This little city was created in the year of 1911 and was to be made as the capital of the state. But due to formal refusal by the local people, capital was shifted to Itanagar. From here the British did whole administration to this state.
