building, Florida State University (FSU), classroom

Though it is still under construction in this outdated photo (from March, 2006), the New Classroom Building opened on January 8, 2007.

HCB has four floors. Floors 3 and 4 are labeled "Levels 2 and 3" respectively. Floor 2 is labeled "Level M," as this floor is like a "mezzanine" level for the two large lecture halls here.

The New Classroom Building is not named after anyone. Most students, faculty, and staff refer to the building by building's abbrieviation, HCB, which stands for "Huge Classroom Building."

Prior to its destruction, this was the Bim Stults Aquatic Center, an Olympic size 50 meter pool, which was home of the Florida State Universtity Swimming Team. It was named after the school's first swimming coach. The swim team now competes at the Morcom Aquatics Center off campus.
