Strozier Library [LIB, Building 134] (Tallahassee, Florida)

USA / Florida / Tallahassee / Tallahassee, Florida / Honors Way, 116

Robert Manning Strozier Library, FSU's main campus library, was completed in 1956. It's open to the public, but only students and others affiliated with FSU (or any other school in the Florida university system) can check books out. There is a Starbucks cart in the main lobby.

The main part of the building was completed in 1956 and has three floors and a basement. The annex, completed eleven years later in 1967, has five floors, a basement, and a sub-basement floor used for storage. The so-called "sixth floor" of the Strozier Annex only houses the elevator equipment.

Strozier was one of the later presidents of FSU. He was in office during the 1950s and 1960s.

Since mid-December, 2007, Strozier went 24/5. This means it's open 24 hours during any particular school term, opening on Sundays at 10:00am and not closing until Friday at 8:00pm. For the Spring 2009 semester, the library closed at 2:00am on weekdays. In Fall, 2009, FSU's Student Government Association provided enough funds to continue the 24/5 hours.

Strozier's Hours (Fall and Spring):
