Albalat Bridge over the Tagus River was one of the important public works built during the reign of His Catholic Majesty Charles I of Spain and V of Germany. It was proposed by the city of Plasencia and paid for herself and many other towns in the area, including Bell Albalat, and had the personal support of the Emperor. Its construction was completed probably in 1552. It is located on the northern end of the village of Romangordo, to just over 4 km from the town of Almaraz.

Has a length of 127 m., A width of 6.8 m. excluding parapets and 38 m. height. It consists of two arches, one on the right-considering the river is a half-point with a maximum aperture of 33 m. and the left is deojivaapuntada with an aperture of 17 m. Both arches rest on a central pillar on each side is semicircular with a diameter of 10.35 marked. There are carved in relief a great shield of Emperor Charles as they may be very well the double eagle.
