The remains of a probable tithe barn visible as two walls to the N.W. and N.E. They are of unmortared stone rubble 0.8m. thick, and from 0.5m to 2.0m high. The placename of "The Sanctuary" has been applied to the area. A clue to its origin and purpose may lie in a number of tin moulds and troughs which occur in the adjacent farmyard giving support to the suggestion by a 19th century excavator that it was a smelting works.
