A village in Kobuleti Municipality, Alambari Municipality (Alambari, Upper Kondidi). It is located on the left bank of the Achgvi river, 60 meters above sea level, 14 km from Kobuleti.
According to the census of 2014, 1837 people lived in the village.
In the XV–XVI centuries Alambari was the center of the Guri Principality and a princely residence. According to Vakhushti Batonishvili, the Gurians had a palace here. From the middle of the XVII century till the 1770s the village was the property of the Tavdgiridze family.
During the Soviet period, the village was included in the Mukhaestan Rural Council; tea and citrus plantations were developed.
In the village, on the hill called Tsikhishkelad, there are ruins of a castle from the XVIII century. The castle belonged to Mamuka Tavdgiridze, therefore it was called Mamuka Castle. The castle was destroyed by the earthquake in 1959. Only the south-eastern wall with a height of 3 meters survived, and the preserved ruins have the shape of a tower with an area of 47 square meters.
There was a stone church of St. George in the village. The local people called it St. George of Shushanet. In 1891 the church was destroyed.
