Abul Fazl shrine. Named after Abul Fazl, an advisor to a 14th century Moghul emperor. Site of suicide bomb attack on December 6, 2011 that targeted Shia Muslims visiting the shrine as part of Ashura celebrations. The attack at Abul Fazl Shrine was the deadliest of three attacks in Afghanistan that occurred within the span of an hour and a half on December 6, 2011, targeting Shia Mulisms. The blast at the shrine left at least 54 people dead and 154 others wounded. A bombing in Mazar-e-Sharif left at least four dead and 20 injured, while a bombing in Kandahar injured at least five people.
