Manor Gardens was originally part of an old Manor House. This was home to the Ducarel family during the eighteenth century and then subsequently to a Mr Charles Prettejohn. The Manor House was demolished in 1894, in 1907 the garden was given over to the local council. Now this open space is enjoyed by local dog walkers and people just coming for fresh air and relax. The garden can also be accessible from Imperial Road or Chapel Hill.
