A predominant area of woodland just down from the baron wastes of Dartmoor and near the village of Lustleigh. Steeped in hauntings and legend, stories run from phantom Romans to ghostly orbs of light in the night sky. The river Bovey runs through this great woodland forming Lustleigh Cleave, the area is a now a National Nature Reserve as well as being part of the Dartmoor National Park. The cleave and woodland is open access with several public rights of way. To the west is also the village of Manaton.
