International Monitoring System, infrasound monitoring site
The infrasound station IS33 is part of the International Monitoring System (IMS) for detecting nuclear test explosions. In operation since 2001, the station employs a triangular array of sensing elements (central element H1 and corner elements H2-H4) to monitor atmospheric disturbances. The output is transmitted to the International Data Centre in Vienna, Austria.
