Former route of the Fairfax Line of the Washington-Virginia Railway, a electric trolley system that connected Rosslyn and downtown Washington, D.C., with Clarendon, Ballston, Falls Church, Dunn Loring, Vienna and Fairfax City in the early 1900's. The route of the line continues east in Fairfax County on Electric Avenue.
