railway, abandoned / shut down, trolleybus stop, tram stop
Uniquely built to high speed standards, the Portland-Lewiston electric interurban was said to be capable of 60 MPH. The confluence of events such as the Standard Oil streetcar scandal, the rise of the automobile, and the 1929 stock market crash helped end the relatively short era of the Interurbans nationwide.
