beach, place with historical importance, invisible, do not draw title

Prior to the extension of Lake Shore Drive and Lincoln Park with the emplacement of artificial land, this was the approximate location of the western extremity of the natural Lake Michigan beach. The concrete beach seawall east of the north entrance of the existing Edgewater Beach Apartments (the large pink structure) remains but no longer enjoys the company of waves. James M - Mar 2007
