381-foot, 34-story modernist office building completed in 1971. Designed by Kahn & Jacobs, it is clad in a curtain wall of silver glass and white concrete panels. The curtain wall covers the north and east facades, as well as the north edge of the west elevation, and most of the south elevation on the east side. The windowless concrete core at the southwest includes a section that projects to the south, and rises up higher than the main roof line. The main entrance is near the west end on 57th Street, in a projecting glass portico. At the far west end the ground floor is clad in light-grey metal panels with a freight entrance and metal service door. A retail space at the corner of the ground floor is occupied by Roche Bobois designer furniture.
