Tower 56

USA / New Jersey / West New York / East 56th Street, 126
 office building, skyscraper

386-foot, 33-story modernist office building completed in 1982. Designed by Fox & Fowle Architects, it is clad in grey granite with windows bands of silver-tinted glass. The tall ground floor has a glass wall between the end piers, with a central revolving door. A short, silver metal canopy covers the ground floor. Above, the 2nd-6th floors each have sloping greenhouse windows as each floor sets back to the main tower section rising straight up from the 7th floor to the roof line.

The window bands wrap around the east and south facades, and partway onto the north and south ends of the west elevation. The rooftop mechanical equipment is screened by a granite wall on all four sides, propped above the roof line by a pair of round columns on each facade. On the north side, there is a shallow arch at the base of the screen wall.
