USA / New Jersey / West New York / New York City, New York / Madison Avenue, 555
 office building, skyscraper

387-foot, 32-story International-style office building completed in 1959. Designed by Morris Lapidus & Associates and Kokkins & Lyras, it is clad in a curtain wall of dark-grey metal and glass. The spandrels are opaque, black glass. The west facade on the avenue is organized into six bays, each with four window panes, and the north facade also has six bays, but the easternmost bay is slightly recessed and sets back above the 6th floor.

The lower two floors have bronze-colored spandrels and stainless-steel piers, above a red granite water table. The main entrances are in the 2nd & 3rd bays from the south on the avenue, with storefronts to the south and north. There is a loading dock at the east end of the north facade.

There are setbacks across the full north and west facades above the 11th & 17th floors. The south facade is clad in white concrete, which also extends a short distance onto the east elevation. There is a mid-rise section at the east that extends south to 55th Street. The ground floor here has three bays of storefronts between black stone piers. The upper floors are clad in the same curtain wall as the main facades, and set back above the 7th, 9th, and 12th floors, with a lower roof at the 17th floor. The ground-floor retail spaces are occupied by a TD Bank branch, Forward healthcare, and Proper Food.
