900 Third Avenue

USA / New Jersey / West New York / Third Avenue, 900
 office building, skyscraper

469-foot, 36-story postmodern office building completed in 1983. Designed by Emery Roth & Sons, Cesar Pelli & Associates, and Rafael Viñoly Architects, it is clad in alternating bands of light-brown granite and blue glass. The exception is at the two-thirds of the south and east facades at the southeast corner, where the first six floors have silver metal cladding in place of stone.

The main entrance is at the center of the east facade on the avenue, in two recessed bays with glass walls, and revolving doors flanked by traditional glass doors. There is a glass-and-metal storefront on either side; the south storefront has a chamfered corner at the southeast (the 2nd floor is also chamfered), with a single round steel column supporting the floors above. At the west end of the ground floor on 54th Street is a loading dock.

The north end of the tower sets back above the 29th floor, where there is a 4-story rounded glass atrium that curves back into the north facade's top floors. Besides the lobby, the ground floor is occupied by Bank of America branch, and F45 Training gym.
