mine, silver mine
Abandoned silver mine in the Ruby Mining District. Today, a large flat open area, partially surrounded by an arena-like hillside that was cut away from mining. According to topo maps, at least one adit of unknown condition is said to exist above the cut away section. Another adit once existed within the cut away area, though the entrance is now collapsed, but is easily found due to a trail of orange colored rocks, stained from iron bearing water exiting the collapsed portal like spring water. The area provides a great location for camping and other recreational activities.
