Highlands Work Center is owned by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR). In the summer time it is home of the Highlands 20 Hand Crew. A 20 man hand crew that fights fires out of this area. It is one of 2 hand crews apart of the DNR. A hard working and respected crew in wild land fire prevention and protection.
