Impressive Galilean-type synagogue from the second century AD.
Rectangular structure, whose facade, with three entrances, pointed toward Jerusalem. Remains of the Ark of the Law were found between the entrances. A unique find was a mosaic floor portraying King David as a young Roman soldier.
Later, in the seventh century, the whole architectural concept of this synagogue was modified: while the Ark of the Law remained in the southern wall, facing Jerusalem, the entrances were relocated to the northern wall. The former entrance court, now at the rear of the building, was converted into an assembly hall with benches around the walls, possibly a study house. Carved on the lintel above the entrance was the biblical verse, "Blessed shall you be in your comings, and blessed shall you be in your goings" (Deuteronomy 28:6); another verse, "The wolf and the lamb shall graze together" (Isaiah 65:25) was featured in the mosaic floor
