The Nordstrand Border Watch area is the place in Lambertseter where the border to Nordstrand is most clearly marked. With a number of blocks situated on the hill facing westwards towards Nordstrand on a more or less straight line, overlooking the border between Lambertseter and Nordstrand. One of these blocks is the so-called Munkelia Tower, the tallest block in the Munkelia Housing Cooperative Area, which has an extensive view of the Nordstrand area.

In addition, there is a "dead zone" between these border watching blocks and the start of Nordstrand. This dead zone is constituted of two rows of what are today garages, with an asphalted road between them. There is no military presence, and the border between Lambertseter and Nordstrand is open for everyone. But there are people who believe that this was not always so, and that the border was heavily guarded in ancient times, espescially because this is an extra vulnerable point, as Langbølgen, the main street of Lambertseter is almost directly accesible from Nordstrand here.
