This area of Oslo is called Lambertseter, it was built during the 1950's, and was the first modern suburb of Oslo.

Lambertseter used to be an independent borough of Oslo, though in 2004, the neighboring borough of Nordstrand took control over both Lambertseter and several other surrounding areas in eastern Oslo. However, Lambertseter does still have a self-governing council, as well maintaining control over the semiautonomous area of Karlsrud.

Lambertseter is easily recognized as one of the most developed areas of Oslo, skillfully balancing an efficient and clean residential area, with several, small and larger, green areas.

The boundary of Lambertseter as it appears, is that which is recognized by the Oslo City Council. There is, however, great dispute on where the actual boundaries go, especially after the Nordstrand invasion of 2004.
