It is a sacred peak of Sikkim. On its foot lies the famous lake Gurudongmar. The peak has been climbed a number of times by army/para military forces. This peak was named after Guru Nanak who on his way to Lhasa spent a few days here for meditation & it is why Shikhs/Punjabis carries the sacred water of the lake. It is believed this water increases fertility of women & infertile woman gets fertile by taking this water & it also drives out some other diseases.
