Kabru range forms the southern spur of the Kangchenjunga massif. It is a part of the Singalila ridge that forms the border between Nepal and the Indian state of Sikkim. The range consist of a "field of firn" 2km N-S by 1km E-W at about 7200m. On the northern side of the field is the highest point on the range at 7412m, apocryphally called Kabru IV. The southern end of the field contains a 7318m summit called Kabru South, which the the worlds most southernly Seven-Thouander peak
