Site of the Morgan & Wright Tire Co. production facility, built 1905. Morgan & Wright became U.S. Tire, then U.S. Rubber, then Uniroyal. The plant was closed in 1980, in 1981 the City of Detroit bought the site and tore down the building. Despite its very desirable location it has remained vacant since, due to the cost of cleaning up the toxic chemicals left over from tire production.
