Lebanon Municipal Center (Lebanon, Pennsylvania)

USA / Pennsylvania / Lebanon / Lebanon, Pennsylvania / South 8th Street, 400
 police station, courthouse, town hall

This building complex serves as home for two users:

(1) The Lebanon County Courthouse

The Courthouse (1960). This 1960 courthouse is the exception that proves the rule. It is an undistinguished building on an out-of-the-way back street (near 8th & Oak), and rather hard to find. The building combines both city and county functions plus the police department. Built of yellow brick, its only decorative feature is a metal grate trim above the entrance. Downtown Lebanon has several more interesting buildings from the 19th century.

(2) Lebanon City Hall

Since 1994, the City of Lebanon has operated as a Home Rule Municipality under the Mayor/Council form of government. The five-member Council is elected at large and all legislative powers are vested in Council. The Mayor serves as the Chief Executive and Administrative Officer of the City of Lebanon responsible for the Executive Branch of the government.
