The Village Park (Vanderbilt Field) was acquired after World War II from Commodore Vanderbilt who had constructed and operated a Naval Reserve Training center here. Contains a swimming pool, eleven tennis courts (eight clay and three all weather), a playground, two baseball fields, and basketball, handball and volleyball courts. These facilities are regulated and administrated by the Village Park Commission{Lake Success} which acts under authority delegated by the Village Board of Trustees. The entire facility is supported by Village tax revenues and an annual membership fee. New Police/Court building built on the grounds.
