Polish cemetery.
Polish cemetery is a monument of architecture of XIX century and one of the oldest cemeteries Polish Ukraine, along with the famous Lychakivske in Lviv. Land for the cemetery was purchased in New Ore (now vulytsya Korolenka ) in 1799. Founded in 1801. Known familial Cemetery graves of famous noble dynasties Dombrowski, Manyushko, Chatsky. It contains the tombs of the first Polish military pilot who died in battle, Bronislaw Matsievich, world-renowned composer and pianist, pupil of Franz Liszt Juliusz Zarembskoho, honorary citizen of Zhytomyr General Wladyslaw Presser, academic artist Leonardo Strashynskoho; website Crimean War 1853 - 1856 років Major General VV Kaczynski, merchant 2nd guild Tayber Rudolf Karlovich and other prominent figures. At the newly renovated chapel of St. Stanislaus, built in 1841 - 1846 years and destroyed during the Second World War burials are Catholic clergy since the middle of last century. Next to the majestic monument of Bishop Anthony Karol Nedzlyakovskomu is modest grave of victims of Stalinist terror priest Andrzej Fedukovicha. Thanks to him, Bishop's House was built in Zhitomir (now the Regional Museum). Many unique monuments in the cemetery during the Soviet period were destroyed, all the crypts are broken and looted by looters. Cemetery closed to burials since 1976.
