Home of Columbia College, the oldest division of Columbia University. Until 1983, Columbia College only admitted men. Designed by McKim, Mead & White with funding provided by John Stewart Kennedy. A stained glass window in the second floor was executed by Maitland Armstrong & Co. The lobby also has two Tiffany Studios windows which were salvaged from the Columbia College Library on 50th Street and Madison Avenue.

Its interior was restored and renovated in 2004 by Kliment Halsband Architects. In 2024, the building was occupied by an autonomous group of pro-Palestine protestors.
