Serving as the County Seat for Erie County, New York, Erie County Hall was designed by architect Andrew Jackson Warner and constructed between 1871 and 1875. Built to serve as Buffalo City Hall and Courthouse, the building features three floors and seven story clock tower which at the time of its completion made the building the tallest in Buffalo from 1876–1912.
After city offices moved to the present Buffalo City Hall in 1929, the building became the seat of Erie County and home to its court offices and records departments. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
