This station was used to access Allentown by two of the city's railroads, the New Jersey Central (CRNJ) and the Reading Company (RDG). Trains met at the former wye to the south and joined the line into the station. Passenger trains would load and unload at the platform on the east side of the building. Since this was the terminus of the Reading's Bethlehem/Allentown branch, a small servicing yard and turntable was located in the vacant lot west of the station building. CRNJ trains continued north across Hamilton Street and followed what is now the route of American Parkway, and crossed the canal to rejoin the main line to Marcus Hook (Jim Thorpe).

The station ceased functioning as a railroad depot sometime in the 1970's and is now a restaurant.
