Ghoriwala is a town and union council located in District Bannu. The town is predominantly inhabited by Mughal Khel branch of Yousafzai Pashtuns. Originally, the tribe's ancestral father Mughal khan Yousafzai or Hassan Khan Yousafzai who came from Ghazni, Afghanistan where he was believed to be from one of the Subedars (Generals) of the Ruler of Ghor (The region between Ghazni and Kandahar was known as Ghor). The origin of King Mahmoud Ghaznawi, who invaded India 21 times. Mahmud was considered the most philandering of all classical rulers, he had 9 wives and close to 56 children with up to 32 women, Buzurg of Shahriyar wrote. The name Ghoriwala, is also believed to have been inspired by the name "Ghor", the origin of these people
