Gardencourt Estate was built in the Beaux Arts style in 1906. It was designed by Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge of Boston for the daughters of Kentucky financier George W. Norton. Fourteen acre estate with formal rose gardens, colonnade, pool and arbores created by the Olmstead Brothers. Today the home is owned by the Louisville Seminary (Presbyterian) and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
