Kristina Church (Sala)

Sweden / Vastmanland / Sala

The town church of Sala, Kristina church is built of granite and brick. The church was originally built during the seventeenth century, and rebuilt after being damaged by fire in the following century. The interior contains an altarpiece donated by Queen Ulrika Eleonora in 1738 which depicts the Last Supper. The pulpit was made in 1762. The church has a limestone font made in the seventeenth century, which appears to have survived the church’s great fire.
