Copper Valley is an old industrial area. From XVII century it operated as iron foundry, later with stainless ovens and blast furnaces. Steel production moved in the second half of the 1900s to a new industrial park southeast of the Avesta. Today area can be described as a business park.
The area is about 260 000 square meters and holds everything from newly built industrial buildings to the older plant cells that are largely built of slag stone.
