Minnesota State Community and Technical College North Campus (Moorhead, Minnesota)

USA / Minnesota / Moorhead / Moorhead, Minnesota

Southeast Elementary School opened on Sept. 7, 1954, with four teachers and 68 students. A Forum account of the opening described the school as "granite-like" and said it was designed to last a century. In 1955 it was renamed the Thomas A. Edison Elementary School in honor of the great inventor. The "A." was dropped somewhere along the way. It was sold from the Moorhead Area Schools to JM Rentals in 2004. Minnesota State University Moorhead and Minnesota State Community and Technical College agreed to rent portions of the building. It functioned as the Dragon Wellness Center until 2011, when construction was completed of the new Wellness Center on the MSUM campus. And for MSCTC, it currently functions as its North Campus, providing additional classrooms.
