The Jangalak industrial complex was known to be one of the country's largest factories until the civil war tore it apart. Today, the ruins are used as a place where students come to study, children play after school and for other random activities.

150-hectare site used to bustle up to 24 hours a day with the efforts of more than 1,800 workers in 12 machine, carpentry and support shops, these days, Jangalak has a fleet of shot-up vehicles on blocks; a flock of Soviet-era jets in a mangled pile and its head office in a barren, windowless building whose concrete walls are pocked with bullet hole
