  • Once just one of the numerous fishing villages on the Bay of Bengal, Neelankarai (translation from Tamil: Neela- Blue , Karai - Beach)or Blue Beach is transforming into one of the Chennai city's most upmarket and prestigious residential areas. Lots of Film personalities(Kamal, Vijay etc)and sportsmen like Cricketer Srikanth have homes here. UNFORTUNATELY THE BEAUTIFUL BEACH IS LINED WITH "NIGHT SOIL" EVERY MORNING AS MANY LOCALS SEEM TO ENJOY AN EARLY MORNING CRAP ON THE CLEAN SAND WHILE WATCHING THE WAVES!! MORE PUBLIC TOILETS AND EDUCATION TO INCULCATE CIVIC SENSE AND HYGENE IS NEEDED….

  • We ruined the beautiful beach here with plastic bags and eatable left over. It is a shame that we don't know, how to keep a place clean. the town panchayat and police should do something for this (stricter and memorable punishment for the vendors with plastic bags and people who shit on the beach). Can somebody take this initiative?
