The dome's diameter is one of the biggest in Christian cathedrals, at 32.9 meters.
It was planned to built the cathedral at the height of 94.3 meters, but due to an economic situation it was lowered by 10 meters.

Construction began in 2007 per an initiative made by the Azovmash president Aleksandr Savuchka and finished in 2011.
