NRHP - National Register of Historic Places, neighbourhood development
Schenley Farms was one of the country's first successful planned suburban housing developments. Today it is part of a National Historic District which also includes many of Oakland's civic buildings. Both the residential and civic zones are part of an early 20th-century "model city" planned by urban designer F.F. Nicola.
