Site of Cartago Landing in the late 19th, early 20th centuries. Two steamers, "Bessie Brady" and "Mollie Stevens", used to tie up here. The steamers were used to ferry charcoal from the nearby Cottonwood Charcoal Kilns and supplies to Cerro Gordo, and ore back.
